Day 2 – Between Classrooms, Ruins and the Sea

Después de un delicioso desayuno con vistas al mar, emprendemos de nuevo el empinado camino que nos lleva al instituto para comenzar una nueva jornada de trabajo.
Más de cien escaleras —y unos cuantos gatos curiosos— nos acompañan cada mañana en este recorrido lleno de encanto.

Nos reciben con entusiasmo y, tras revisar los guiones del día anterior, comenzamos a grabar nuestras píldoras informativas. A pesar de los diferentes idiomas, la comunicación fluye con naturalidad y el trabajo avanza con ritmo y buen ambiente.

Por la tarde, tras disfrutar de un gyros típico, tomamos el autobús rumbo a Drama para visitar el yacimiento de Filippi, en Crenides, declarado Patrimonio Mundial de la UNESCO.
Entre piedras y ruinas, descubrimos la increíble acústica del antiguo teatro griego y viajamos mentalmente por más de dos mil años de historia y tres culturas que se entrelazan en este lugar.

Risas, compañerismo y muchas preguntas para reflexionar nos acompañan durante la visita.
Terminamos el día en el museo y regresamos a Kavala, donde cerramos la jornada con una merecida cena frente al puerto, disfrutando del ambiente mediterráneo y de todo lo vivido.

After a delicious breakfast with a sea view, we once again set off up the steep path leading to the school to begin a new working day.
More than a hundred steps —and quite a few curious cats— accompany us every morning on this charming route.

We are warmly welcomed, and after reviewing yesterday’s scripts, we start recording our information capsules. Despite the different languages, communication flows naturally and the work progresses smoothly and with great teamwork.

In the afternoon, after enjoying a traditional gyros, we take the bus towards Drama to visit the ancient site of Philippi in Krenides, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Among stones and ruins, we discover the incredible acoustics of the ancient Greek theatre and travel through more than two thousand years of history, guided by the legacy of three intertwined cultures.

Laughter, friendship, and endless questions to reflect on accompany us throughout the visit.
We finish the day at the museum and return to Kavala, where we end the evening with a delicious dinner by the port, enjoying the Mediterranean atmosphere and all the experiences of the day.
